Miss Deane - Junior Classroom Teacher

For Miss Deane's Group this week in InitiaLit we have been learning what a compound word is. This is where two words combined make one word, such as tooth - brush.

The kids have also added some tricky words such as "here", "want" and what" to their vocabulary. In Mr. Stow's group, they have learnt two new sounds / letters, "i" and "f" along with the short vowel sound "a".

For Outdoor Classroom, we explored the water cycle and had the fantastic opportunity to learn from Ben at Coliban Water. He helped deepen the students' understanding, turning them into budding water cycle experts! We were also lucky to have Emily from Resource Smart visit and share her knowledge on Sustainability. The students have been learning about planting, caring for plants, and sustainable practices around water and food waste. This sets the perfect foundation for Term 2 when we plan to start our very own veggie gardens!

To wrap up the term, we got into the Easter spirit on Thursday by making delicious chocolate nests! We hope you have a wonderful Easter and a fantastic holiday!
