Miss Langley - Senior Classroom Teacher

This fortnight in the senior room we have been continuing to learn about Explanation Text, Coordinating Conjunctions and Prepositions! The students love anything to do with Pacman or throwing a ball so we combined their love of games to make their learning even more fun. We have been playing Conjunction and Preposition Pacman and the kids have loved it!

For Numeracy we have finished focusing on multiplication, the students have been working on making equal groups, multiplying one and two digit numbers, using the grid method and challenging themselves with column multiplication.

We have been learning about the water cycle in Outdoor Classroom and we had the pleasure of Ben from Coliban Water coming out and taking the students for a lesson on the Water Cycle - the students built on their existing knowledge and are now very knowledgeable scientists when it comes to the water cycle. We have also been very fortunate to have Emily from Resource Smart come out and visit us and bring her wealth of knowledge about Sustainability. The students have been learning about planting and caring for plants and how to be sustainable with water and food wastage, which is an excellent introduction into Term 2 where we will hopefully be starting up our veggie gardens.

We got into the spirit of Easter on Thursday and made some chocolate nests! We hope you have a lovely Easter and enjoy your holidays!
