Year 6 - Inquiry - Who are We?

As part of our Inquiry unit this term, ‘Who are we?’ students have been focussing on their own identity, countries of heritage and migration stories.

We have also been exploring stories and perspectives from refugees and asylum seekers. To strengthen students' learning outcomes, Greenvale Primary School has contacted the ASRC to help us learn how we can support people seeking asylum in Australia.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. It is an independent not-for-profit organisation, whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Over the past month Greenvale Primary School has been accepting food and other donations to give to the ASRC. We have had an amazing amount of support and collected a huge amount of canned veggies, fruit, fish and toiletries.
