Week 9 Term 1

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them”

- Matthew 18:20

Dear Parents and Carers,

St Fidelis' Community Fete Day was a wonderful success last Sunday. Mother Nature was kind to us and we could not have asked for a better day, filled with fun, laughter, food and community spirit.  It was amazing to see and feel the spirit of the St Fidelis' community within our school at this event. It was great to think that past parents, grandparents and students still have a connection with St Fidelis and put their hand up to support and make this a true parish and school community event.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families for their participation and support during our Community Fete Day. Your involvement made the event truly special. A huge thank you to the Parents and Friends' Committee for their incredible effort in organizing everything leading up to the fete. We couldn't have done it without you all making a real team effort. A special thanks to Tara Soares, Anastasia Spyrou, and Bianca Muscara, whose dedication and hard work helped coordinate the rest of the hardworking Parents and Friends' Committee and parent community to make this such a successful and fun-filled day.

This feedback from the Petting Zoo organizer:

"The community turnout for a small inner city Catholic school is  fantastic. I am amazed and appreciative that every parent volunteer that had their name down to assist at the petting zoo turned up , as many schools they never show or come only for 10 minutes"

Such wonderful feedback from an outsider. What a wonderful community we have! From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the students and teachers, thank you. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Year 3 Reconciliation

Last Thursday night the Year 3 students celebrated their First Reconciliation in the St Fidelis church. The celebration was lovely and very reverent. Thank you to Ms Gasbarro and the Year 3 teachers for preparing the children and making this a special occasion as they take another step in their faith journey.

Catholic Education Week Creative ARTS Competition

Our students have shined at the Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition! Our Year 5/6 artworks were selected for the 2025 exhibition, and won the Zart Art Sculpture & 3D Art Award along with a $400 voucher for their collaborative sculpture, of The Resurrection.

A special mention to our school captains, Estelle and Alexander, who proudly accepted the award. With over 400 submissions, this is an incredible achievement well done to all our talented artists.
