COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS || Yesterday, some of our Year 8 – 11 students proudly supported Beaumaris North Primary School by taking on official roles during their Athletics Carnival at Sandringham Athletics track. Great job, everyone, for fostering community spirit, lending a hand and being wonderful ambassadors for our college.

BSC CREATIVE WRITING JOURNAL BOOK LAUNCH || We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Creative Writing Journal, Shoreline, featuring the incredible work of our talented students! To celebrate this fantastic achievement, we invite you to join us for the official launch event on Friday 6 September 2024 at 3:30pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the creativity and dedication of our young writers.
We're also excited to have acclaimed writer Caz Goodwin visiting us on the day! She'll be sharing writing tips and tricks with our students and will be available for a chat during the launch.

BUSHRANGERS SURVIVAL INCURSION || Our Year 9 & 10 Survival Skills students had an incredible experience today during the Bushrangers Survival Incursion! They stepped into nature, right here in our very own open classroom, to learn essential bushcraft skills like fire building, water clarification, shelter construction and more. Guided by survival experts, they applied their scientific knowledge to real-world survival scenarios.

MCG TOUR & Q&A || Today, our Business Management Unit 3/4 students gained invaluable insights into contemporary business operations. They enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the MCG and participated in an hour-long Q&A with Stuart Fox, CEO of MCC. Stuart also allowed the students onto the ground, which is a rare treat for visitors! This experience has greatly enhanced their understanding, linking classroom theories with real-life examples.

YEAR 12 ARTWORKS || Our Unit 3/4 Artmaking & Exhibiting students are working hard on their final artworks. Save the date for our upcoming ‘VCE Media, Art & Design Exhibition’ to be held on Thursday 10 October (6 – 8pm), to see the results of all their hard work!

OUTDOOR ED CAMP || Our Year 12 Outdoor Ed students have been on a two-day adventure to Forrest and Torquay! They hit some awesome mountain biking trails, checked out the local wildlife and sea kayaked along Torquay's beautiful coastline. They had a fun night together while learning more about sustainable outdoor practices.

YEAR 9 COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS PROGRAM || Wrapping up another successful Community Connections Program where our Year 9 Beyond students volunteered at various local primary schools and childcare centres during August. Our Community Connections program is designed to build social awareness, character and skills through active volunteering. Great job, everyone!

HOUSE SPORT || Well done to our Year 7 students for making our House Sport a slam dunk today (Ricketts vs Beckett followed by Southern v Waratah)! The energy on the basketball court was incredible, with amazing house spirit and support from all our Year 7s who were there to cheer. This event was more than just basketball—it was about fun, teamwork and earning those all-important house points. We look forward to next week at lunchtime, where all students will be able to watch Beckett take on Southern and Ricketts take on Waratah. We can't wait to bring this to other year levels soon!

COLLABORATIVE HOUSE ARTWORKS || Well done to everyone who contributed to the collaborative House artworks as part of our ‘Arts Week’ celebrations. They look AH-MAZING and we can’t wait to see them up!

MYUNA FARM || Today, our Be A Vet students visited Myuna Farm for hands-on work with animals. They learned about various diets, digestive systems, feeding processes and supplements for farm animals. Students also gained practical experience with small animals and farm nursery mammals, honing their vet skills. This excursion is a crucial part of their Term 4 PBL for Be A Vet, focusing on managing animal health.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS || Today, we rocked the house with our first-ever Battle of the Bands. The talent and energy were off the charts, and it was amazing to see our students shine. Congratulations to the Senior Rock Band for taking out the win, and huge thanks to everyone who performed and supported!

ENSEMBLE SOIREE || Last night, our talented Instrumental Music Program students showcased their skills at the Ensemble Soiree. Their performances were truly impressive and highlighted the dedication and hard work they've put into their music.
