Getting a Head Start

Celebrating Success in School-Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships

Head Start plays a crucial role in supporting students in Years 11 12 to build the skills, confidence, and capabilities needed in growth industries. We’re grateful for their partnership and encourage interested students to explore this pathway.

Ludi R (Year 12) - Hairdressing Apprenticeship

My name is Ludi and I am currently completing Certificate III in Hairdressing at Chisholm, Frankston, every Wednesday. I am doing a school-based apprenticeship and have just entered my second year. I am working at Tok Hair Studio in Beaumaris, on Thursdays and every second Saturday.

At the moment, I am finishing up my colouring unit and moving into my cutting unit.

In 2025, I will continue to attend TAFE and extend my work hours to move through and finish my apprenticeship.

My bosses Liz and Rachel have been nothing but supportive and have helped guide me though my apprenticeship, I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity they have given me.
