Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

National Science Week

This week, being National Science Week, I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the fabulous dedication and commitment of our STEM Teacher, Mr Brown. Mr Brown provides stimulating and purposeful learning experiences for all of our children F-6, unlocking their curiosity and engagement, not only in the world of Science, but within the world of Technology as well. His focus on inquiry and exploration ensures quality learning experiences for all of our students, not only during Science Week, but every week in STEM. Thank you, Mr Brown!

Open Morning

Following our Book Week Parade, our classrooms will be open to families! We are inviting families and friends to join in with the learning happening in classrooms, with our students next Monday morning. This will be an invaluable opportunity to share in some learning, engage in your child/ren's learning environment and be a part of our Book Week Celebrations. We look forward to your company!

Assembly

Please join us for our school assembly this Friday at 2:30 pm. We love having our school community present, as we enjoy the fabulous assemblies that are presented by our students.

Staffing

This week we farewell Mandy Simpson from the MRK-6 team. I would like to acknowledge and thank Mandy personally, but also on behalf of our School Council, staff and school community for the professional commitment and diligence she has shown throughout her time as Business Manager at our school. We wish her every success and happiness as she embarks on her new role at Pleasant Street Primary School, and hope that she takes with her the very best memories of her time with us at Miners Rest K-6. Our thanks and very best wishes to you, Mandy.

We are looking forward to...
