We’re excited to announce our partnership with WASH Performance and Wellbeing, founded by Brisbane Lions player Will Ashcroft. This collaboration brings an exciting training program to our students, focusing on both athletic development and personal growth.
WASH Performance and Wellbeing is committed to empowering aspiring AFL players to reach their full potential. They prioritise creating a supportive environment that encourages students to build positive relationships with coaches and teammates. They provide professional coaching that enhances our students’ skills, mindset, and overall performance.
CC Sport is thrilled to announce that our Junior AFL Program will be led by two exceptional coaches, Peppa Poultney and Farradai Hopkins, both of whom bring so much experience and talent from the Brisbane Lions Academy and QAFLW competition.
Peppa Poultney, currently playing for the Yeronga Devils, is a formidable force in the ruck. Known for her ability to dominate the tap and immediately switch into roving mode, Poultney provides Yeronga with a dynamic option who is both tall and mobile - a skill set she’ll bring to our program. Joining her is Farradai Hopkins, another standout from the Yeronga Devils. Renowned for her gritty defensive work, Hopkins consistently impresses with her tenacity and versatility, making an impact at both ends of the ground. Her dedication and leadership on the field will be invaluable to our budding AFL players.
With Peppa and Farradai as coaches, our Junior AFL Program is looking forward to an exciting season ahead.

Schools Sport Australia National Cross Country Championships
Grace Hunter makes a win at the Schools Sport Australia National Cross Country Championships
In a thrilling display of endurance and grit, Grace Hunter has once again proven her mettle at the Schools Sport Australia National Cross Country Championships, held at the rugged Yarra Glen Racecourse Melbourne. Battling through a treacherous 3km course under 10-degree temperatures with muddy and wet conditions, Grace emerged as the first Queenslander and clinched an impressive 5th place overall.
The race was a nail-biter, with the top five runners finishing within a thin margin of just 12 seconds. Grace’s performance was nothing short of stellar, demonstrating her resilience and fierce determination as she navigated the challenging conditions and went head-to-head with the nation’s elite young cross-country runners.
The Clayfield College community is bursting with pride and celebrating Grace’s exceptional achievement. Her relentless effort has once again showcased Queensland’s depth in cross country running on the national stage. Congratulations to Grace on an extraordinary performance!
