Book Week in the Prep Classroom

All students were given the opportunity to transform into their favourite book characters and embrace the magical theme of 'Reading is Magic.' The entire school, all the parents and the Kinder students were treated to a fantastic parade on Monday morning, where imaginations ran wild! Afterward, the Prep class dove into some enchanting literacy

activities inspired by this year’s Book Week theme.

Book Week is an annual event organised by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) to celebrate Australian books, authors and illustrators.

This term, we've been mastering our speaking and listening skills in class. We've worked on perfecting our eye contact (no more staring at our shoes!), speaking clearly so everyone can understand us, showing off our best body language, and using the right voice level.

Our Preps got to put these skills to the test by starring in a short video for Book Week. Just a heads up: you'll want to increase the volume because our future stars were a bit too quiet on set. But hey, Hollywood wasn't built in a day! The Preps who were in class on Monday enjoyed making the video, and I'm very proud at how well they spoke. Who knows? We might have the next big TV sensation in our midst!
