I hope all our dads, grandads, and special father figures had a wonderful day on Sunday, filled with love and laughter with your children. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Father’s Day Breakfast on Friday. I hope you enjoyed the morning, connected with other St Joey’s dads, and made some new friends.
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) are conducted annually for schools in the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. This year’s MACSSIS window is from Monday 2 September to Friday 20 September 2024.
We will be randomly sending out 80 invitations for families to contribute to the survey, which will assist us in guiding our focus for 2025 and beyond, ensuring that we maintain our commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for our children. It is quite a lengthy survey but we do value the time that you put into completing it.
When you receive the email and link in the coming week or so, please take the time to complete the survey. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to your participation in the 2024 MACSSIS survey.
I wish to inform you that I will be attending Principal Enrichment Leave with a focus on the Laudato Si’ Pilgrimage, following the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare from Rome to Assisi.
Over the past year as a Network we have been focussing on Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si with a particular focus on his call for ecological change, care for the environment and care for the poor. As part of this, we will focus on St Francis and St Clare of Assisi. We will make connections between these saints, their orders and the modern day world and how we as Catholic Principals can have an impact on our communities around these themes.
My last day for this term will be this Thursday, Sept 05. During my time away, Kate will be 'at the helm' and will undoubtedly ensure smooth sailing for the next two weeks.
Our school concert was originally planned to be held at the Thornbury Theatre, however on inspection, it's been decided that the venue was not going to meet our needs. Ms Jaclyn has worked her magic, and has secured us a booking at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar Theatre. This venue however only has the capacity to accomodate 500 people, so we are holding the concert over two nights.
Your child will be required to perform on both evenings, and tickets will be allocated according to an A-Z breakup of families.
More information will come home closer to the event - but for now PLEASE SAVE THE FOLLOWING DATES - 23rd and 24th OCTOBER!!
Please note that Parent/Teacher Interviews this term will be held over two days. On Tuesday, September 13 interviews will be held from 3:45pm- 6:15pm and on Wednesday September 18 from 1:30pm - 7:00pm
Parent / Teacher Interviews provide the opportunity for open dialogue about your child’s individual growth and are a wonderful opportunity for you to meet collaboratively with your child’s teacher to discuss your child’s progress
Please note that the date for our Graduation Mass has moved to Friday December 13 (previously scheduled for Monday December 16).
