Parent Opinion Survey 2023

Last week the Parent Opinion Survey data was released. Rangeview opened this survey to all families this year and we had 145 families participate.

Results were extremely positive in all areas. Rangeview’s highest results were in the areas of Student Connectedness (95%) and Respect for Diversity (95%). Lowest results were Teacher Communication (75%) and Student Motivation and Support (78%).

All results, in all areas, were higher than Similar Schools, Network Schools and State. All Domains were higher than our schools results over the previous 5 years. This is quite remarkable and is data we are very proud of. We will work to ensure that this positive position is maintained and will focus on those areas that still can show improvement.

Parent Opinion Survey 2023 Summary of Results

2024 Foundation Transition

On Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 29th of November Rangeview ran transition sessions for our littlest learners. On Tuesday the students participated in two rotations of the specialist program and it was just lovely to see them joining in Music, Art, PE, German and Library sessions. On the Wednesday the students were back in grade groups and getting to know some peers, the teachers and the school environment.

Rock Band - Local Schools World Tour

On Tuesday this week we were delighted to see the first Rangeview Rock Band - Local Schools World Tour, come to life. The Rock Bands from Rangeview PS, Mitcham PS and Vermont PS all toured the three schools and performed for a number of the grades. I was lucky enough to receive a backstage pass to this event - but could not locate the 'backstage'.

We were very proud of our rocking Rangeview students who put on an awesome show and our congratulations to the two bands from Mitcham PS and Vermont PS who were also pretty spectacular on the day.

National Student Wellbeing Program Funding

In Term 1 of this year we applied for funding through the National Student Wellbeing Program and last week we were notified that we were successful. This funding is for the years 2024 – 2027 and our school will receive just over $20 000 per annum for this time. This funding is to support the engagement of a school chaplain or student wellbeing officer.

Education in government schools is required by law to be secular. Government schools engaging a chaplain must do so through an NSWP provider. In 2024 Rangeview will be increasing the time fraction of our excellent school Social Worker – Natalie Powell. Natalie will move to be two days a week at our school.

Book Launch - My Dog is a Cat

Last week one of our Grade 4 students - Chenaya P - had a book she has written and illustrated, officially launched. Chenaya's book 'My Dog is a Cat' is a beautiful story about pets and their funny behaviours and is written for our younger readers.

We are very proud of Chenaya's work and were thrilled to receive a copy of her book for our school library.

Dogs on School Grounds

Please be aware that dogs are not to come on the school grounds during the school day for health and safety reasons. Any dogs that come at pick up and drop off times need to be on a lead at all times. We thank our community for supporting us in this.
