5/6 Newsletter
20th - 24th
On Monday, the 20th of November there was a student free day for the whole school so teachers could participate in Personal Development. Wednesday 22nd Drouin Secondary College came to Bunyip Primary to welcome the 6s for next year and teach them about their program. On the 24th students who are going to Marist Sion have their orientation day to learn about their new high school and experience what it is like to be at high school. This week the grade 5’s wrote a letter to their prep buddies for next year, to welcome them and tell them a little bit about themselves, and our school. We are looking forward to meeting all of the amazing new preps!

Grade 6 students were lucky enough to have a visit from youth workers Kelly and Maria, from the Cardinia Shire. They learnt about some of the services provided by the shire and ways to acess help if they needed it from groups like the Kids Help line and Headspace. 'Improving your resilience', was the theme for the lesson and students identified people they felt comfortable to talk to, and ways to bounce back after a bad day. All students recieved a wrist band, given to them by a friend, that identified some of their personal strengths. It was a most enjoyable visit and we thank Kelly and Maria for giving us their time.
