Learning Community 2

Maxine Howard and John Wigg

We've had another great two weeks of learning in 3/4

In Reading we have looked into Biographies. We learnt about some famous Australians and people involved in some large events in Australia's history.

This week in Reading we are watching short videos and practising our skills of inferring.

During Maths we have revised Fractions and Time. We spent a lot of time creating fractions within shapes, finding equivalent fractions and making fractions of a collection. We enjoyed use M&Ms as our 'collection' - yum!

We have learnt about writing Historical Recounts and are currently revising a range of previously covered genres. We chose from three different historical events to write about.

This week we are creating four different pieces all based on the idea 'My Dream Gift'.

In our Science sessions we have learnt about the adaptations of fish. See if you can find our camouflaged fish in the trioramas below!

Lastly, we were lucky enough to join the 5/6 Team at the Cenotaph for our own Remembrance Day ceremony last week. We made some felt poppies and planted them in the edges of the Cenotaph to show our respect and appreciation for those who have made sacrifices for our country.
