This week I gratefully accepted a generous number of vouchers donated by the Bunyip Community Op Shop to support families with Christmas expenses. On behalf of the families that will receive these vouchers, I would like to say thank you to the team at Bunyip Community Op Shop for caring for our school community.
2024 Grades:
We are now in the process of sorting out our grades for 2024. This is often a complex process where we try to balance the learning needs of students, friendship groups and numbers. If you have any specific requests regarding your child’s learning and where you think they will be best placed, I am happy to listen and we will do our best to address your concerns. Please keep in mind that this is not always possible and that the teachers have the best overview of all students and how they work together in the classroom.
During state-wide transition day, students will move to the area they are going to work in next year to allow the teachers to have a closer look at the group of children as a cohort.
The grade structure for next year will be:
Prep/1
Prep/1
Grade 1/2
Grade 3/4
Grade 3/4
Grade 5/6
Grade 5/6
We often get asked about composite grades and I’m happy to have a conversation about planning to student need rather than to a set grade level.
2024 School Captains
Today, all grade 6 students will have received information explaining the process to nominate for the position of School Captain in 2024. We look forward to seeing our current Grade 5 students step up into leadership roles for 2024.

Gates:
Our school staff do their best to ensure the gates are opened at the start of the day, closed during the day and reopened for the end of the day. However, often circumstances occur when they may not be open or closed when expected. If you pull up at the gates and find this to be the case, then please just give us a quick call and a polite reminder. At the end of the day, the locks are just hanging open, so if it is after 3 o’clock you are welcome to open the gate for us.
Sophie won the Gippsland line upgrade hard hat sticker competition. Her design will be put on to all the hard hats of construction workers working on the line upgrade project. She won a Gumbuya World voucher and she also won a Bunnings voucher for the school.
