SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Staff Morning Tea...
A massive thank you to all our parents and students who were involved in the Staff Morning Tea, what a lovely way to wrap up the year! A special thank you for the fantastic monetary donations put toward the coffee and catering from Steampocket, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
We are so fortunate to have such a supportive and engaged community, your generosity truly has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for being an essential part of our school family, and we look forward to more shared moments in 2024.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy new year!

New Shade Sails...
On Friday last week, we were excited to get our Senior Playground Shade Sail installed. It was hoped that this project would be completed in October but steel manufacturing delays prevented this timeline.
We are thankful to Ezy Shades Geelong for the work they have completed with our Shade Sails. This was completed thanks to part of the funds raised from our Chilwell Fair this year. We are thankful to our Chilwell and wider community for supporting this event and ensuring we can continue to improve our grounds for our whole community.
In the past 12 months, we’ve installed, x3 shade sails which have improved access to shade during warm weather, installed goal post pads and redeveloped the ANZAC statue garden. All of these improvements are thanks to our community for your generosity and support. We are proud of our grounds and grateful for our community.
School Crossing...
We are delighted to share with you some kind words from our crossing supervisor, David, who only joined the Chilwell community very recently...
Hello, my name is David and I have had the privilege of being your crossing supervisor for the last 4 weeks.
After having worked full time for the last 44 years, I retired at the end of June this year.
Not wanting to sit idle when I finished work, I applied for a position as a casual school crossing supervisor.
I commenced at the start of term 3 and covered St Roberts primary school in Nicholas Street for the whole of the term. For the 4th term, I have moved around a number of crossings, depending on where they needed me.
I would like to congratulate all the children who have crossed with me, during my time at Chilwell primary. You have all been polite, respectful and very well mannered and it has been a pleasure to help you cross safely each day.
You have been very welcoming and I thank everyone including the students, parents, family, teachers and the general public for making my job fun and enjoyable.
I wish everyone, happy and safe holidays and best wishes for the coming new year.
Who knows, maybe we will see you again next year?
Cheers, David
Uniting Xmas Appeal
In the last few weeks, families of Chilwell have had the opportunity to donate Christmas presents to the Uniting Appeal Box in the office.
We would like to thank each and every person who has generously donated, for bringing joy to children who may not have received Christmas presents otherwise. Your contributions have truly created a ripple effect of positivity that extends far beyond our school walls.
Please see below the great impact you've made...
Respectful Relationships...
After a 2 year implementation period as a lead school, Chilwell has been presented with a certificate from the Department of Education.
The Respectful Relationships program supports schools and early childhood settings to promote and model respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
You can find more information at https://www.vic.gov.au/respectful-relationships
Congratulations to all those who have demonstrated respectful relationships within our community.
Jeff Smith Farewell...
Goodbye and good luck to one of our many beloved teachers Jeff Smith!
We wish you all the best on your new life endeavours, and hope to see you next year, perhaps in time for the swimming lessons!
Thank you to all involved in organising Jeff's farewell afternoon tea, it was much appreciated by all.
