Battle of the Bands

Our Brooklyn Park Battle of the Bands Concert was one to remember!  

The evening was a competition between our talented Year 5/6 classes, showcasing what they've learned in their exceptional Band Program this semester. We were blown away by our performing students who showcased their talent on the Trumpet, Trombone, Clarinet, Flute or Saxophone!  

This would not have been possible without our fantastic Music Tutors: Jo Jeffery, Robin Finlay and Susie Pettitt. 

A huge thank you to the effervescent Mrs Nikki Meinel who worked hard with students this Semester, ensuring that they put on a ripper performance! 

Term 4 Foundation 

Why? What? When? How? 

This semester, the Foundation students have practised asking good questions, as this is an important part of learning. After practising asking each other questions in the classroom we had the opportunity to ask questions to extend our knowledge during two special events.

A visit from some Year 11 Emmaus students who shared about their Lands Trip this year, and a visit to Adelaide West Uniting Church car park where Lynne Aird, Pastor, shared the meaning of the Aboriginal Artwork in the Church car park. 

Here are some of the questions that were asked by our clever Foundation Students about Emmaus’ Lands Trip:

• How many people did they visit? 
• How big was the town? 
• How long was the bus trip there?
• Did you see anything different?
• Did you have fun there?
• Did you put ochre on yourself?
• Where did you eat?
• Whose pet dogs were they?
• Where is Ernabella?
• What did you do together?
• How many minutes did it take to get there?
• Did you learn anything new?
• Were there any mum and dad helpers on this trip?
• What are they cooking? 
• Why did you paint nuts?
• Did you find food from plants? 
• Did you have a smoking ceremony?
• What did you like most about your visit?
• What animals and bugs did you see?
• Are there any shops there?
• Are there any hotels there?

Keep asking those questions Foundation students! We love your enquiring minds and are very proud of all your achievements this year. We know you are destined for amazing things ahead.
