Fun in year 1!

1N have been doing some exciting hands-on activities in Maths this term. We have been exploring fractions by making fraction pizzas using halves and quarters of different ingredients. We had a pretend pizza shop where children took orders from each other and had to make their friends pizza. 1N had lots of fun. We also have been exploring Capacity by comparing the sizes of different containers and figuring out how much liquid a container can hold. We used non-standard units such as cups, spoons and sand to determine the capacity of various containers. Hands-on learning is the best learning!
