ITALIAN NEWS Benvenuti al Term 3!

Welcome back to another exciting term! We look forward to building on the wonderful experiences of Term 2 and creating many more opportunities for students to develop their Italian language skills and cultural understanding through authentic and engaging learning experiences.

Celebrating Term 2

One of the highlights of last term was our NEW Pranzo Italiano Classe, where our Year 5/6 students proudly showcased their learning by hosting an Italian lunch experience. They demonstrated confidence, teamwork and leadership while sharing Italian language, food and culture with our Foundation to Year 4 students.

A heartfelt grazie mille to our wonderful parent volunteers, Oliver Mann (Arabella and Pernille’s dad), Elena (Boris’ mum), Toula and Orlando (Morgan’s parents), whose generosity and enthusiasm helped make this event such a memorable success. Thank you also to our Italian language assistants Martina and Lucrezia for their support. This is greatly appreciated.

Here are a few of the dishes we prepared:

Pranzo Italiano CLASSE

Last term, Pranzo Italiano became an official CLASSE, reflecting its important role within our Italian Bilingual Program.

Held on the final Monday of each month from 11:15–11:45 am in the STEM Room, each session celebrates Italian language, culture, food etiquette and culinary traditions.

Working in their multi-age Amici Insieme groups, students prepare simple Italian dishes, practise speaking Italian in an authentic context and enjoy sharing a meal insieme (together).

Every student, from Foundation to Year 6, will participate in one Pranzo Italiano Classe throughout the year.

Our Year 5/6 students play an important leadership role by presenting the classes, supporting younger students throughout each session, developing responsibility, teamwork and confidence.

July Pranzo Italiano CLASSE

On Monday 27th July, our Amici Insieme Groups 7, 8 and 9 enjoyed preparing and sharing insalata di pasta (pasta fredda). Students worked collaboratively, practised their Italian and embraced the joy of cooking and eating together. It was wonderful to see students across year levels supporting one another while celebrating Italian language and culture. Thank you to Oliver and Marina (Charlotte’s mum) for your dedication and support and to our wonderful Year 5/6 students for leading this Classe and being such amazing role models.
