Principal Address

Dear Parents,

I hope you’ve had a good week!

Can you believe, next week is our last week of school!

We have been inundated with sickness this week and have had huge numbers of student absences. We are praying everyone feels better and ready for our last week of term next week.

As we head into the cooler months, it’s common to see an increase in colds, flus, and other seasonal bugs. While it’s hard to avoid every germ, there are some simple, evidence-based steps all of us can take to help reduce the risk of illness and keep our school community as healthy as possible.

Here are a few key habits that make a difference:

1. Handwashing matters. Regular and thorough handwashing with soap is one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs. Remind your child to wash their hands before eating, after using the bathroom, and after coughing or sneezing.

2. Rest is powerful. Children need good quality sleep to support their immune system. A regular bedtime and enough hours of sleep each night helps their body recover, recharge, and stay resilient.

3. Nutrition supports immunity. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and water gives the body the nutrients it needs to fight off illness. Limiting processed foods and sugary snacks can also help keep energy and immunity steady.

4. Fresh air and movement help. Regular physical activity and outdoor play are great for physical health, mental wellbeing, and supporting overall immune function.

Student Reports

Over the weekend, you will be receiving your child(ren)’s Semester One Reports. These reports provide a valuable snapshot of how your child is progressing not only in terms of academic outcomes, but in their approach to learning, their effort, and their growth over the first half of the year.

We encourage all families to take time to sit and read through the report together. The general comment offers important insight into how your child is engaging with school life overall socially, emotionally, and in the classroom. The subject-specific feedback helps highlight both areas of strength and areas for growth.

As always, our focus is not on being the best, but on doing your best. Every student has a unique learning journey, and this report is a great opportunity to recognise their progress, celebrate their effort, and set meaningful goals for the term ahead.

We’re looking forward to discussing your child’s learning further during our upcoming Parent-Teacher Interviews. These meetings are a valuable time to ask questions, clarify anything in the report, and talk together about how we can continue to support your child to thrive. If you haven’t yet booked an interview, you can do it via this link.

The reports get sent home via email, please note that sometimes these appear in the junk folder and often they can appear at different times over the weekend as they are generated by a student management system. If you have not received it by Monday please contact the school.

Mufti Day

We are having a mufti day fundraiser for World Vision on Thursday. There is no theme -children can wear warm, casual clothing with closed in shoes. Please bring in a gold coin to contribute to this worthy cause.

My door is always open,
