JUNIOR School Update

Dear Parents/Carers and Students

Year 7 & Year 8 Update

As we wrap up Term 2, it's a great time to reflect on what has been a busy, rewarding and exciting term for our Year 7 and Year 8 students. Across Term 2, we have seen huge growth in confidence, maturity, and in the way our students are engaging in their learning and the opportunities that Frankston High School has to offer.

There have been so many highlights throughout the term, including the Rubicon Camp, Athletics Carnival, Cross Country, sport competitions, excursions and incursions, the Maths exam, and the Year 8 into Year 9 elective course selection session. Behind all of these events has been the ongoing work of our dedicated teaching staff, ensuring every one of these opportunities provides our students with the opportunity to achieve success and work towards reaching their full potential.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the incredible Year 8 team. Catherine Kyriakos has done an outstanding job leading Year 8 this term with skill, care and dedication. Thank you also to our Year Level Coordinators, Paige Whitworth and Gareth Fuller, who continue to go above and beyond in supporting both staff and students. Their commitment to our young people and to building a strong and supportive culture is truly appreciated.

Throughout the term, we have continued to see our school values, Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Empathy on display in so many ways. Whether it's in the way students support one another, the way they respond to challenges, or the way they represent our school in the community, these values are becoming deeply embedded in who we are as a year level. Similarly, our pillars of Excellence, Community, and Aspiration are reflected in the breadth of opportunities students are embracing both in and out of the classroom.

Finally, thank you to our families for your ongoing support and positive engagement with the school. The partnership between home and school is incredibly important to us, and we value the role you play in helping our students succeed.

I wish all of our Year 7 and Year 8 students and families a safe, restful and well-deserved break. We look forward to another fantastic term ahead!
