The Year 8 Hub are excited to welcome our students back for the start of Term 3. After a well-earned break, it’s great to see everyone return refreshed and ready to dive back into school life.
This term brings new beginnings with a fresh round of electives, new learning experiences, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. We’re looking forward to seeing you challenge yourselves, support one another, and make the most of what Term 3 has to offer.
Let’s make it a great one!
As Term 3 begins, it’s a good time to reset and refocus on our core values: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. These values guide how we act in every part of the school from the classroom to the canteen and everywhere in between.
This means using respectful language, owning your choices, coming prepared, and sticking with challenges even when things get tough.
By living these values each day, we help create a safe, supportive, and positive school community for everyone.
This term, we recognised our high-achieving Year 8 students with a special pizza lunch. Students had the opportunity to celebrate their efforts and chat with college leaders about future pathways, goals, and opportunities ahead. It was a great chance to acknowledge their hard work and encourage big thinking for what comes next.
Congratulations to those who received an invitation, keep up the great work!
In Art, students are exploring imagination and possibility by drawing what they believe the world could look like. These artworks go beyond the page, challenging students to think creatively and express big ideas.
In Metals, the students are busy shaping, buffing and designing. It's fantastic to see them enthusiastic and determined to master their skills.
This week, our Japanese exchange students joined Year 8 students for a fun and fast-paced conversation starter session.
In small groups, students asked each other questions to learn more about their lives, cultures, and interests using the question cards provided. Laughter, curiosity, and conversation filled the room as students connected.
It was a great way to build confidence, practise speaking, and most of all make new friends.
