Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

It’s been wonderful to see everyone return from the Term 2 holidays with such energy and enthusiasm. Our students have settled seamlessly back into the school routine, and it’s fantastic to see learning in full swing once again.

Thank you to all members of our school community who participated in the parent-teacher interviews at the end of Term 2. These conversations play a vital role in strengthening the connection between home and school, fostering collaboration and transparency that ultimately benefit our students' learning.

In this edition of the newsletter, I’d like to take a moment to celebrate the achievements of our Year 3 and Year 5 students in the recent NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) assessments. As many of you know, NAPLAN provides a nationwide measure of students' literacy and numeracy skills, giving us valuable insight into both the strengths of our educational programs and areas for further growth.

We were pleased to see strong growth across all assessed areas - a testament to the dedication of our teaching staff and the commitment of our students. While NAPLAN offers just a snapshot of learning, it complements the ongoing data and evidence we collect to form a comprehensive learning profile for each student. This holistic approach allows us to tailor our teaching practices and continually refine our strategies to support every learner.

A heartfelt congratulations to all our students for their efforts during the NAPLAN assessments. Let’s use this achievement as motivation to continue striving for growth and success across our school community.

We are delighted to welcome three new students who have joined our school community this Term 3. Starting a new journey is always exciting, and we are thrilled to have you with us. To our newest members, Akira (3H), Jacoby (Prep B) & Ayden (Prep A) – welcome; we hope you feel right at home! We look forward to seeing you grow, learn, and thrive.

To all our students – if you see a new face around the school, please say Hello and help make them feel welcome.

On a different note, if you choose to park in the top carpark (in front of the community centre), please walk your child past the community centre to the supervised crossing. Too many people are crossing the road among traffic. It is essential that we all cross safely at the supervised pedestrian crossing.

Warm regards,

Alyce Lowther
