From the Principal

Next Thursday’s final school bell doesn’t just close the term—it ushers in a well-earned three-week intermission. Some families will be off exploring warmer (or colder) destinations, while others will stay closer to home, using the time to recharge and reset. However you spend the break, take a quiet moment to appreciate the journey so far—a brief but meaningful chapter filled with growth—and to look ahead with purpose to the months still to come.

Term 2 has been a celebration of the many talents and interests that thrive within our school community. From the impressive creativity and commitment shown by our senior students in Nice Work If You Can Get It, to the excitement building for tomorrow night’s Year 6 production, Goldie Locks On!, it’s been a term rich in artistic expression. We’re especially grateful to our dedicated Drama staff, whose countless hours of guidance and collaboration—with both our girls and students from partner schools—have brought these vibrant performances to life.

All three of our Mother’s Day celebrations were wonderfully attended, reflecting the strong bonds that exist within our school community. These moments not only honour the incredible contributions of mothers and other support figures but also serve as a reminder of the values of love, support, and togetherness that we hold dear.

This term both the Junior and Senior School showcased their sporting prowess at their respective athletics carnivals. Combined with a good dose of competitive spirit, the carnivals are always a highly anticipated event in the annual calendar. We have a wealth of sporting interest and talent across the school, and we will continue to encourage all sporting passions as they are proven to increase wellness, pride, and collaboration in our students.

As part of National Boarding Week some weeks ago, the girls held a Tuesday lunchtime BBQ on the School oval. This was a fundraiser for Country Education Foundation of Australia, an organisation who is committed to empowering young people from across regional Australia through education and career support. Thank you to parents Jacinta Purvis, Rebecca Guilfoyle and the students who volunteered their time and energy to this worthy cause.

We recently announced our 2025/2026 Senior School and Boarding leaders, who will begin their roles in Term 3. The quality of applicants was exceptional, and we commend all who applied. Congratulations to those appointed—we’re confident they’ll lead with strength and purpose. At Kambala, our students continue to show that leadership is not only about position but about using one’s voice to inspire and create positive change.

Wishing you a restful and enjoyable holiday break. We look forward to welcoming you back in Term 3 for ten weeks of meaningful, dynamic learning ahead.
