Year 9- Sustainable Biomes
Year 9 HSIE students have been learning about Sustainable Biomes. To consolidate their learning with a hands-on task, students are conducting an expirement; creating a desert biome in a jar. Over the next few weeks, students will water their plants, monitor their plants growth and document the results. Let's hope their hypothesis is proven correct!!
Secondary Mentor Pastoral
Throughout Term 1, 7-10 students have been participating in Mentor Pastoral and Peer Support programs. This has been occurring fortnightly, with mentor teachers facilitating activities with Years 8 and 9, and Year 10 facilitating Peer Support sessions with Year 7. These initiatives have provided a fun and engaging environment for young people to address social issues. The module that was chosen for students to engage in is one based on strengthening our connections with others. This module is designed to equip young people with skills to deal proactively with life experiences.
This week, students engaged in a TRUST WALK, a blindfolded experience led by their peers, leading towards a common understanding of trust and the belief that other people will do the right thing in a healthy relationship.
Year 7 German
Unsere Deutschklasse rockt ! (Our German class rocks!)
Year 7 students have been learning German and recently learnt to sing the nursery rhyme “Bruder Jakob”, which is the equivalent of Frere Jacques/Brother John. The students sang with enthusiasm and great pronunciation. Tolle Arbeit, alle zusammen! (Everybody, do it together!)
