Year 3 Assembly/ Parent Learning Walk & Classroom Visit

On Friday 21st March, Year 3 parents/carers visitied students in class and attended assembly. Thank you for coming to see what amazing things Year 3 have learnt this term.

Year 4 Art

This term, Year 4 has been learning to use a variety of materials and mediums to create artworks that reflect their understanding of the importance of dragons to different cultures. Students had the opportunity to use traditional calligraphy brushes and ink to create Eastern-inspired dragons. Year 4 also explored using clay and wire to construct their interpretation of Western dragons. We have loved watching the modelled videos of Mrs Lenton’s incredible sketches of insects and dragons throughout the unit. Overall, everyone has really enjoyed this Art unit as they have been able to create multiple artworks in different forms.

Kindergarten Spotlight

Beginning Kindergarten is no easy task. Not only are we asking students to separate from their loving family for at least six hours a day, but we are also encouraging them to bond with friends, learn how to read and write, gain an understanding of the stories of Jesus, grasp mathematical concepts, create lifelong memories and a little of everything else along the way!  Kindergarten students are growing as people, developing confidence, stepping outside their comfort zone and achieving incredible milestones- all in just nine short weeks of school.

Kindergarten have recently been immersed in the story of Pig the Pug with a focus on the characters' traits- both inside and outside. Students have come up with their own adjectives to describe these characters' looks and qualities. They have been able to identify their favourite character through writing, drawing and articulating what qualities this character possesses. "He reminds me of me", "he is angry, grumpy, naughty", "he is rude to Pig, that is why I didn't pick him" and "he's an angel" were some of the reasons why students chose each character as their favourite. We can't wait to see what else we can achieve in Kindergarten!
