Auslan

Prep students have been continuing with all things ‘Family’ and have started learning Auslan numbers 1-10. 

We also read (and watched) a bilingual text (English and Auslan) called ‘My Family Lunch.’

As we explored similarities and differences between our families and Deaf families. Students loved drawing pictures of their favourite parts of the story. 

Grade 1-3 students have used their knowledge of Auslan classroom signs to play a variety of different games which has helped to their expressive and respective signing skills as well as their fingerspelling! 

‘I Spy’ was a big hit with the Grade 3 students, as their fingerspelling is becoming impressive and the Grade 1 students loved signing ‘Winner, winner, chicken dinner’ if they won Bingo!
