Preps

In Drama, Preps have been continuing to take part in fairy tale play performances.

They have been using their voices to match characters such as The Big Bad Wolf, The Gingerbread Man and Three Billy Goats Gruff. 

We have been learning about dynamics in music- loud and soft. They created movements to match, played guessing games with instruments and learned songs to sing. 

As part of dance, the preps have created moves to match movement stories and copied simple moves to various songs like ‘Rock N Rolling’.

Grade Ones

Grade 1 students finished performing their fairy tale plays to the grade, they gave each other feedback on what they enjoyed and what they might do differently next time. 

They learnt to dance 'The Banana Peel' and completed the moves with a partner. 

This week in music we used glockenspiels to play high and low notes to match the song ‘Reach Up High’. We matched sounds to pitch maps.

Grade Twos

In music, we have focused on long and short sounds. 

Students sung ‘In A Dark Wood’ and played long or short sounds on triangles and bongos to match the rhythm pattern. 

Students enjoyed putting on costumes and performing short plays for their grades in which they gave constructive feedback. 

Students worked with a partner to follow sequential dance moves in time with the music.

Production

The cast has been decided for our 'Alice in Wonderland' Production and students met to receive their scripts to practice. 

We will meet Monday-Wednesday during lunch breaks to start rehearsing. They will need to bring their scripts to these rehearsals.

Congratulations to the all of the students who auditioned for parts, it takes a lot of courage to perform in front of an audience.
