2025 GERMAN TEACHERS
In the last newsletter we introduced our 2025 German Captains, Suhani and Maheli. As we have a new German teacher at Rangeview this year, we thought we would also share some information about this year’s German teachers.
FRAU ROSAS-ORTIZ
Hallo! Ich heiße Frau Rosas-Ortiz.
I love teaching German! I was born in Schweinfurt, Germany and moved to Australia when I was 8 years old. I have been lucky to continue my German skills in high school through a bilingual program and then chose to continue learning it at university. I have taught German at primary schools and high schools since 2015.
My favourite part of being a German teacher is being able to show a different culture to students, seeing their memory, concentration and problem-solving skills improve and of course teaching them new words so that they can communicate in German!
I love hearing students excitedly tell me the RPS ‘phrase of the week’ and see the pride on their faces when they say a full sentence in German.
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my husband and playing with my German miniature Schnauzer/ toy Poodle, his name is Idefix and he is 1 year old. Even Idefix is learning a few German words, and his favourite word is ‘essen’ which means ‘to eat’ 😉.
I look forward to many fun German projects, and language experiences at RPS in 2025.

FRAU LINDNER
Hallo! Ich heiße Frau Ulrike Lindner (pictured middle below).
I was born in Munich, Germany, and moved to Australia when I was 7 years old. I completed VCE German at high school and later earned both the Peninsula Prize in Education and the German Goethe Prize at university for being the top graduate in my course.
I began teaching German at Rangeview PS in 2003, and I am truly passionate about sharing my native language with students. I am also proud to have raised my three children bilingually, speaking only German with them at home.
It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the positive impact of second language learning on my students and to see their excitement as they start speaking German confidently. I especially enjoy encouraging them to participate in events like the AGTV German Poetry Competition, as well as immersing them in German culture through activities such as our annual Oktoberfest day.
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends, practicing yoga, cooking, gardening, and going for runs. I also share my home with two British Blue cats, Miez and Mops, as well as an Eastern Blue-Tongue Lizard.
I’m looking forward to another fantastic year of teaching German at Rangeview PS!

Should you have any queries about how to best support your child’s German language development, we would love to hear from you.
