Today is a great day to be you!
What an amazing week away our Year 6 students had last week! Coonawarra Farm Resort was our home away from home from Monday 24th February to Friday 28th February.
We were absolutely spoilt with the weather all five days - sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine.
Over the five days, our students participated in a wide range of outdoor activities, including:
And of course, the very popular swimming pool!
On top of all the wonderful daytime activities, the students also completed a night hike, a very loud and energetic 'minute to win it' competition, music trivia and a more relaxing movie night (on the final night when everyone was very tired!).
Running the camp so early in the year is a great way for this group to build some strong bonds to set themselves up for a fantastic final year of primary school. We are really proud of how the students represented the school and displayed our values over the week. There was much kindness and respect... and resilience in spades! Witnessing students overcome fears, step outside of their comfort zones, support and encourage others, give everything a go - it was really amazing.
Finally, a huge shout out to all the parent helpers and staff who attended to ensure the students could have a brilliant week. All Year 6 teachers stayed the whole week, as did Mrs M. To our parent helpers - Michael, Margi, Jayce and Simon - we can't thank you enough for giving up your time across the week to support our students. You all got so involved and the students loved sharing their camp experience with you.
Next Thursday night - March 13th - The Resilience Project will be hosting a live webinar for our school community at 6:30pm. The focus is on Building Resilience at Home and we strongly encourage all families to register and take advantage of some great info and tips from our friends at TRP.
Please scan the QR Code here to register for this event. More information can be found on the flyer below.
Make sure you sign up to this wonderful event - it's sure to be another awesome night!
Our annual school photos day is quickly creeping up on us - this will happen on Monday March 24th. We ask that all families send their children in full school uniform on the day.
Your child/ren will have brought home a personalised order flyer earlier this week which explains how to place your photo orders online. If you misplace this (or it didn't arrive!), please contact the office for another flyer.

Over the past few weeks, a few of our students have voiced their desire to start a 'Comic Club'. This began earlier this week on Wednesday and was extremely well attended! Comic Club will continue on Wednesdays during B2 on the library deck and the students running it have already informed me of some ideas for future group projects. It's always wonderful to see student ideas come to fruition!
