IGNITE THIER FUTURES INFORMATION SESSION: "A Parent's Guide to Support Student Success" 

Murray Mallee LLEN in partnership with headspace Swan Hill are facilitating a FREE information session for parents/guardians with the aim to educate the community about work experience, Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) placements, School-Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships (SBATs), work and study resources along with the pathways available to their young people and how they can support their children in gaining industry experience and work-related skills to promote and encourage strong future career pathway outcomes from school to work.

 

The information session will coincide with headspace's “Work and Study Month” in March which is a national event shining a light on the important link between work, study and the important contribution to young people's mental health and wellbeing.

 

WHEN: Monday the 17th of March 2025

TIME: 6:00pm arrival for a 6:30pm start

This is a fantastic opportunity for parents/guardians and the community to come along to an information session and find out more about the local support they have to ignite their children's futures and support their students on their pathway to success!

AVALON CAREERS DAY

Geelong Region LLEN and WynBay LLEN are proud supporters of the Avalon 2025 Careers Day and are taking the lead in the marketing of the event to educational settings across Victoria through the VicLLEN network.

 

AMDA is partnering with VicLLENs co-led by Geelong and WynBay to connect with education providers across the state.

 

The Avalon 2025 Careers Day Program is an event students across Victoria absolutely cannot miss! The day is packed with opportunities that will inspire and guide students towards an exciting future in career pathways in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)!

 

Students will be engaged, inspired, and empowered through interactive activities, flying and static aircraft displays, key industry connections and interactive speaker programs. Students will be able to connect with industry representatives exhibiting on the exhibition floor, investigate career pathways with global companies and discover career trajectories in STEM within aviation and aerospace. Registrations for school group bookings are now open! Please forward this information to your schools and encourage registering a school group to visit, or bring along a group organised by your LLEN as a 2025 event.

 

The Defence Work Experience Program is pleased to advise that the Simpson Barracks Expo 2025 is open for registrations.

 

 All attendees MUST register, including parents/caregivers.  Tickets are valid for an allocated two-hour time slot, with each time slot allocated a coloured wrist band. It is a requirement that these be worn by all attendees during their visit.

 

Courtesy shuttle buses will be the primary mode of access, and will be available to and from Watsonia Train Station.

 

Gates will open at 10:00am and close 4:00pm. Photo ID is required on the day for Entry. (School ID is acceptable for U18)

 

1.       Date:  Sunday 18th May 2025

2.       Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm

3.       Location: Simpson Barracks – 200 Greensborough Road, Macleod VIC 3085.

4.       Access: Via Blamey Road off Greensborough Highway, Macleod - with no parking on site available.

 

Please note the Conditions of Entry below:

1.       Ticket and identification (school ID accepted for U18) must be presented upon entry to Simpson Barracks for the selected time.

2.       Individual Entry Tickets are required to be ordered for all attendees over the age of 2 years old.

3.       Entry to the base is limited to pedestrian access only - no bicycles or vehicles will be permitted to enter the establishment.

4.       No alcohol is permitted at the event.

5.       Bag searches will be conducted on entry or on request.

6.       Prohibited or dangerous items will not be allowed to enter the premises. These items include but are not limited to weapons, surveillance equipment, items that may cause a disturbance etc.
