Year 9 Year Day

Year 9 Year Day

On the 26th February Year 9 participated in their annual Year Day. The day started bright and sunny, perfect conditions for a trip to the pool. Starting in the hall, Year 9 participated in a series of team building activities that saw them testing both their athleticism and their lateral thinking skills. In some tasks the teams were highly successful, in others some teams resorted to cheating in an attempt to win the approval of attending staff but were sadly caught in their attempt.

At the completion of these events Year 9 walked to the pool and got straight into some activities led by Mr Dore and Mrs Donaldson. The temperature was already warming up, making the pool a great spot to be. Structured activities then gave way to free time in the pool. Year 9 had a great time playing on the inflatable rings and making up all sorts of catching and diving games with Mr Dore and Mr Bailey.

Year 9 worked up an appetite in the pool. Luckily for them, while they had been swimming, Donna and Miss Crompton had been slaving over a hot BBQ to make sure they were all fed. After several sausages each Year 9 were back in the pool.

To end the day the year group had a very hot and sweaty walk back to school, with many attempting all sorts of bribery to gain a seat in one of the two cars driving back to school. Overall it was a great day with lots of fun activities. Thanks Year 9 for another great year day!
