Kitchen Garden

Hi, our names are Vanessa Ko and Lucinda Pretty. Today we are going to tell you all about what we did in the Chatham Primary School Kitchen Garden.

Firstly, Leda told us what we were making and showed us a quick example.

Then, we got into five groups. Some of the groups got to pick their ingredients straight from the garden. One group made a beautiful green salad. The other groups made fantastic pinwheels.

Next, we started cooking; it smelt delicious! We put the pinwheels in the oven and while we were waiting for the pinwheels to cook, we set up the tables neatly.

DING! “Oh, the pinwheels are ready, yay!” Everyone exclaimed with excitement. We all sat down as a big family. Leda handed out the pizza pinwheel and it was SO tasty. Poppy was walking around handing out salad and Laurence had tons of salad - he LOVED it!

Then, Leda handed us a delicious spinach and fetta pinwheel and, a sweet rhubarb one. It was AMAZING! Some people got a second pinwheel because they loved it so much.

Laurence, Nolan and Lucinda did the dishes.

Lastly, we all gathered and said a big thank you to Leda, Anna (our parent helper) and Mrs Robinson.

After school, we went home and told our parents how awesome it was. We have included the recipes in the newsletter so you can try these delicious pinwheels at home.

Happy cooking!
