Students of The Week

Mrs Megan Skoda and Miss Bridget Wilson

Well done to our first Students of the Week for the School Year!

Lincoln (3A), Luka (3L) and Leora (Foundation Yanko)

During the week, staff are on the lookout for students who show our school values in some way. If a student is seen doing the right thing, they receive a raffle ticket which then goes into a barrel in The Hub. Each Friday, three names are drawn from the barrel who become our Students of the Week! They receive a certificate and their photo in the newsletter and displayed near the office. It's all very exciting on Friday when it comes to announcing the lucky students!

Our school values and some examples of what staff have seen are:

Responsibility:

  • Caring for equipment and school property
  • Helping others

Respect:

  • Playing fairly
  • Listening to the teacher
  • Using manners

Honesty:

  • Telling the truth in different situations

Care & Acceptance:

  • Showing empathy
  • Pointing out when other students are upset
  • Including others in their games

Doing our Best:

  • Making good choices
  • Turn taking
  • Coming to the line properly - not bouncing balls, etc.

Here is what some of our students said about our Student of the Week raffle tickets!

"I like raffle tickets because if you do the right thing the teacher gives you a ticket. It makes me feel good when my friends win"

Katelyn (1Skoda)

"It makes me happy when I get raffle tickets"

Akain (1Skoda)

"It is good because I feel proud"

Eugene (2Tu/Rambert)

"The raffle tickets change people's emotions and makes them happy and excited"

Jack  (2Tu/Rambert)
