2024 Year 6 Student Leaders

The commissioning of our Year 6 Students and their Leadership Badge Ceremony

Thursday 8th of February, 2024.

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of honouring our exceptional 2024 Year 6 Leaders throughout the school day.

The morning began with Father Andrew commissioning our Year 6 Leaders at our Opening Mass. The Year 6 Leaders were invited to declare their commitment to guide our school by showing respect to themselves, each other and our environment and encouraging others to do their best in everything they do. Father Andrew then blessed all school leaders and their badges and asked for God’s blessing for the Year ahead.

Later in the afternoon, we had a whole-school ceremony where each Year 6 Leader was individually presented with their well-deserved leadership badge by their mentor. The ceremony was a truly joyous occasion where all students from Foundation to Year 6 and school staff were present to celebrate such a special milestone. The pride and excitement in the air was palpable as each student was applauded as they received their badge, symbolising their readiness to take on their leadership roles within our school community.

We have full confidence in our Year 6 Leader's ability to lead with integrity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact in their final year of Primary School. As they embark on this leadership journey, we extend our heartfelt wishes for success, growth and fulfillment. The support and encouragement of Good Shepherd's staff, parents and the wider community will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their continued achievements.

To support our Year 6 Leaders growth, each leadership group is assigned a mentor teacher. Their mentor teachers will play a crucial role in guiding and nurturing our Year 6 Leaders by offering insights, advice and encouragement tailored to the unique challenges of their leadership roles.

Congratulations, Year 6 Leaders of 2024! We look forward to witnessing the positive influence you will certainly bring to our school.
