Mr Andrew Thomson
Hi my name is Andrew Thomson and I’m one of the Year 6 teachers. I’ve been a teacher for 11 years now, spending most of my career in the senior year level. Previous to teaching I was a graphic designer and a keen musician. I enjoy sports, snowboarding and walks in the Dandenong Ranges. I’m excited to be joining the Good Shepherd team and I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.
Miss Carmen Habuda
Five years ago, I embarked on a transformative journey by relocating to Melbourne, a city that has since become the vibrant backdrop to the diverse chapters of my life. As an educator, I have embraced the opportunity to teach in a myriad of socio-economic areas, gaining invaluable insights into the varied landscapes of education. For several years, I navigated the challenges and rewards of being a casual relief teacher, adapting to different classroom environments and fostering connections with students from all walks of life. Last year, I took on a new role at Good Shepherd as a piano teacher, channeling my passion for music into a fulfilling vocation. Now, I am thrilled to announce the next exciting chapter in my journey – as a Year 2 teacher at Good Shepherd Primary School. This new role not only marks a significant milestone in my career but also presents a wonderful opportunity to continue making a positive impact on young minds within the welcoming community of Good Shepherd.
Mr Steven Zgudka
My name is Steven Zgudka, and I'm a Grade 5 teacher. I have been warmly welcomed into the Good Shepherd community this year and am looking forward to getting to know everyone. This is my second year teaching, and the best part about my job is being able to help students achieve their goals and build their confidence. Outside of work, I am a leader of a scout group, enjoy playing squash and table tennis, love to go camping and be outdoors, and I am also a Carlton supporter.
Mr Tim Ruyg
Hello Good Shepherd Community! My name is Tim Ruyg and I am teaching one of the Year 3 classes in 2024. I have been in Catholic education for 32 years having commenced teaching in Tasmania, followed by a long stint in Canberra and a short stint in Gippsland before moving to Melbourne and starting our family. My wife is a teacher and my teenage girls, Alannah & Poppy, are in the final stages of their secondary education. I have a passion for gardening, music and cooking, and am a long suffering St Kilda supporter. I also really enjoy doing laundry, in particular spending time at the washing line. I look forward to getting to know everyone in the Good Shepherd community.
Miss Isobel Clark
Hi! My name is Isobel Clark and I’ll be teaching 3A for term one this year, until Alexis Atkins returns to Good Shepherd in term two. I’ve worked at this school and with a lot of these students previously as a CRT, so it’s lovely to be getting more involved in their learning and in the school community. After this term I’ll be back to my CRT work, so I’ll hopefully still be a familiar face around the school sometimes! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions for me.
Mrs Karen Ervin
My name is Karen Ervin and I am a Year 2 teacher. I have been teaching for over 15 years, both here in Melbourne and in the U.K. I know many of the students at Good Shepherd as I was a regular Casual Relief Teacher last year. I am so excited to be a part of the Good Shepherd community and to create a learning environment which is supportive and instils a love of learning for all.
