SAKG 

Every year in Garden class we begin our year with creating our garden groups as well as learning about the importance of composting. 

It was the Foundation students turn to choose a group name and we used the garden as inspiration. In Foundation D we have the Sassy Slaters, Potato Peeps, Leaping Ladybugs and Sassy Sprinklers. In Foundation J we have the Pink Potatoes, Buzzing Bees, Zippy Zucchinis and Tomato Tribe. In Foundation Z we have the Curious Cucamelons, Zesty Zucchinis, Pumpkin Pals and Perfect Potatoes. 

Each classroom at MPS has its own compost bin and students in the upper years tested their knowledge of classroom composting by playing a compost game. Our school composting system is completely student run and creates beautiful compost that we then use in the SAKG veggie garden.
