Grade 5/6 Hockey Clinic

Last Friday, all of our year 5/6 students had a Hockey clinic. Greensborough Hockey Club came out in 2023 and now again in 2024 to consolidate our hockey skills progression. They are all so much more comfortable with a stick, their pace has quickened and most of all they have all really enjoyed their hockey experiences. Thank you again to Greensborough Hockey Club and Carol, our over 70’s Australian Hockey champion for coming out again. If any student is interested, Greensborough Hockey Club are open for registrations.

This week in P.E we started off with a reflection circle time. What has been our favourite thing in P.E. We then did a warmup game called ‘heads and tails’. Depending on which way the coin flipped, we had to follow the prompt card to see which warm up skill we needed to complete.

After this we did the ‘bean bag challenge’. This is a fundamental motor skill that some students find easy and some students find a bit tricky!

We finished off our exciting P.E lesson with a game of healthy fruit salad!

Community Sporting Achievements

If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest, team selection, etc…) - please email me natalie.costa@education.vic.gov.au through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in the newsletter. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.
