Work Experience

YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS LEFT TO GET YOUR WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT ORGANISED!

Year 10s, even though Work Experience is not until the end of Term 2, your placement need to be sorted by the END OF THIS TERM!

Use tomorrows pupil free day to get cracking- google possible places, get out there and start approaching potential employers and get signed up.

Remember - it is easier to get a 'yes' from an employer if you go in person to ask (especially in your school uniform because you look so smart and awesome).

Some Tips

• Bring your best smile.
• Ask if you can speak to the person who deals with work experience
• Introduce yourself and what school you are from (I am …… from Nazareth College.)
• Explain what you want (I am in Year 10 and part of our Year 10 program is to undertake a week of work experience in the last week of June. I am interested in working in your industry. Do you take on Work Experience students and would you please be prepared to take me on for a week ? )
• If they say yes – hand them your form to complete
• If they say no – thank them for your time and leave with a smile.
• Try the next place - remember …knock backs is not unusual in the word of work and resilience is key !

Work Experience arrangements forms are due 25 March 2024. Please return to Elena in the Joseph Centre or hand it in to Ms Lochery in your Careers class.
