News from Foundation

What a busy few weeks we have had in Foundation!!! And now our Wednesday Rest Days are over ready for a full week next week (well kind of with Monday off)! Seeing how much they have grown in this term so far has been wonderful! I am very proud of all of them!!

We have been up to lots and lots over the past few weeks, learning lots of new letters, learning about patterns, time and counting in maths, and talking about our identities in Inquiry!

For our upcoming Inquiry task, the Foundations will create a poster about them! Over the long weekend, it would be great for them to gather some photos of them expressing their identity and who they are! This could be photos of them as a baby to now, photos of their family, pets, something they love to do etc! Any photo that tells us about them! We will then be creating the posters at school to present to our buddies and families at the end of term!

Maths

We have been doing lots of fun things in Maths over the past few weeks! We have been learning about time! We have talked about how to sequence tasks in order of steps as well as the order of the days in a week! They love singing the days of the week song to the tune of the Addams family theme song! Ask them to sing it to you!!! This week we started to learn about numbers and counting! We have been practising counting to 20 and matching quantities and numbers to 10.

Jolly Phonics

We have been doing lots of learning in Jolly Phonics! We have been learning lots of new letters, we now know: S A T P I N C K E M H R D G L O U F !!! To reinforce the sounds we know we love to make a little craft that represents the sounds! Ms Forbes loves hanging up our work in a special way, especially with our 'O' Octopuses she created an Ocean!!!

Dr. Seuss Day

This week we celebrated Dr. Seuss Day with some fun activities!! They loved making these Cat in the Hat-inspired fruit kebabs!!
