From the Archives

The Cranbourne Campus of 1995, pictured below, has certainly changed over the years. This is what the campus looked like then.  The red roofed buildings at the top of the photograph are ‘permanent’ portables that are owned by the College. They are now used, in part, by the uniform shop. The original buildings that surround the courtyard are, at the 12 o’clock position the Science Laboratories and Food Technology on the left and Visual Arts on the right. Clockwise, the Terry Feely Learning Centre, then the library (before it was extended), McGuigan Building and, on the left, the original Administrative Building, blessed in 1994 by Bishop Coffey. The original staff carpark and the recreational space for students are also apparent on the lower left and upper left, respectively. The two green roofed buildings adjacent to the Science Laboratories are portables that have since been moved off campus. Also note the undeveloped blocks at the top right of the photograph.

Year 10 Art

Our Year 10 Art class has been embracing the beauty of our school grounds in a unique and creative way. Under the warm sunshine and amidst the tranquil gardens, students have been delving into the world of observational drawing.

Students have been honing their skills by capturing the innate details of nature around them. From the roses in the memorial garden to the towering gum trees that surround the chapel, every aspect of our school's natural landscape becomes a canvas for their artistic expressions.

This immersive experience not only allows students to refine their technical drawing abilities but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the environment around them. Through their art, they are exploring the interplay of light and shadow, the textures of different surfaces, and the vibrant colours of the season.

Beyond the classroom walls, our students find inspiration in the serenity of the outdoors, reminding us all of the importance of connecting with nature in our busy lives. As they sketch and shade under the open sky, they learn to observe, interpret, and translate their observations onto paper, creating artworks that reflect both their technical skills and their personal perspectives.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the creativity and talent of our Year 10 Art class as they continue to seek inspiration from nature, transforming their surroundings into captivating works of art.

Bring It On - College Production 2024

With over 100 students from both Cranbourne and Clyde North campus as part of the on stage cast, the St Peter’s College 2024 production of "Bring It On" is set to be bigger than ever!

Bring it On is an exhilarating journey of ambition, friendship, and the high stakes world of competitive cheerleading. This show promises to entertain with its compelling narrative, catchy songs and dynamic dance routines. With music and lyrics co-written by the creator of Hamilton Lin Manuel-Miranda,  Bring it On incorporates a range of musical genres from pop ballads to hip hop to rap.

At the heart of Bring It On is a story that resonates with anyone who has ever strived to find their place, faced rivalry, or dared to dream big. Following the twists and turns of high school cheerleading competitions, the musical explores the themes of identity, betrayal, and the true meaning of winning.

With casting taking place at the end of 2023, rehearsals are already in full swing. Our Specialist Dancers and Cheer Squad have been busy partaking in cheerleading workshops and learning the choreography for our energetic opening number. Leads and our ensemble cast have been working on their vocals, learning songs from the first act and working through complex harmonies and upbeat rap sequences.

The production will take place in the first week of Term 3 from Wednesday July 17 through to Saturday July 20. Tickets will be available to purchase through Try booking in Term 2.

Meet the College Captains - Clyde North Campus

Nikeith Krishnan, College Captain - Clyde North Campus

What do you see as your role as a leader?

Throughout my journey at St. Peter’s College, I have spent much time discovering myself, which has helped me learn many valuable lessons along the way. One of these lessons was that I needed to push myself further, be more ambitious, and to shoot for the moon. When the time came for me to undertake the responsibility of College Captain, I wanted to use this opportunity to better myself, and learn about what it takes to be the best leader I can be. However, leadership is not only about making change, but it is about inspiring others to lead in their own endeavors, to be endlessly ambitious, and to aim for the stars.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

Great leaders think beyond the title. Being a leader at St. Peter’s College does not need to be satisfied by any criteria; if you have an idea, and are passionate about it, you can live it. The learning environment available to us at the College is welcoming, educational, and overwhelmingly positive. This creates a beautiful environment which allows students the opportunity to express themselves and lead in their own personal learning endeavors.

What are your goals as Captain in 2024?

Captaincy is not just about looking pretty and speaking well, but also taking action. My goal is not only to inspire others to lead in their own regard, but to build upon the positive learning environment fostered at St. Peter’s College. This means providing opportunities, being willing to get my hands dirty, taking up uncomfortable situations, and striving for excellence. Being able to voice concerns of the students is a privilege, and as your College Captain, I will work my hardest to be the best leader I can be.

“Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly (Mic 6:8)

How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

To ‘Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly’ is not just a saying we must live by, but a motto that we should be proud of. To ‘Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly’ is to act in fairness, respect, and confidence, key values relevant to our school and our College ROCKS.

Azaria Schwalger, College Captain - Cranbourne Campus

What do you see as your role as a leader?

My leadership isn't a title; it's a call to action, a commitment to the College, the students and teachers. It’s not about the changes I want to make, it’s about the changes that need to be made and that can only be done through the acts of listening, prioritizing student voice and being a figure of approach, a friend to share ideas, opinions and thoughts with. I would like to be a role model that inspires and leaves a positive impact on the College Community, even through the simple act of leaving a smile on students' faces with every interaction. I will lead by creating a warm environment that will paint our 2024 collective experience.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

Within my time at St Peter’s College I have experienced endless support and guidance from both friends and teachers. I have been encouraged and pushed to be the best version of myself, enabling me to constantly look forward to attending school to appreciate the atmosphere and environment our community has created.

What are your goals as Captain in 2024?

Coming into the role, my goal was and is to continue to build upon the initiative of past College Captains. It’s to bring the school community together and for students to enjoy attending St Peter’s College. This goal, however, is in fact a journey that is never ending and will always have room for growth. I strive for students to have a reason to look forward to attending school by fostering an environment that caters to all sorts of interests and supports and encourages students in every element of their school life.

 2024 College Theme

“Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly (Mic 6:8)

How will you live this statement through your leadership role?’

These words are not just a string of letters or words; they are a roadmap for our collective journey in which I aspire, with my fellow Student Executives, to create a community that stands for fairness, embraces compassion, and walks with humility in every step we take. I will live our school’s powerful Annual Theme through my leadership role and daily life knowing that one kind act can make anothers day and I will continue to be the student that consistently walks around the Campus, always smiling and open to a chat.
