Sowing the SEADs of Success

Our deepest fear….
Marianne Williamson wrote the piece below which was quoted by Nelson Mandela 30 years ago, in his inaugural speech to leadership.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I love this piece as it encourages our girls to step out of their comfort zone and be “strong, confident and passionate young women”.
Leadership Workshop Thursday Week 6
The students who have been nominated for leadership positions in 2025 participated in a Leadership Workshop on Thursday evening and are well underway with their planning of events and initiatives for 2025.
Their enthusiasm inspires me, and it is a privilege to work alongside them.
I am looking forward to supporting their leadership journey in 2025, the Year of Verity.
Walk and Talk Picnic – a huge success 😊
Building connections across the Junior and Senior school is always on the community agenda. It was special to share lunch together, and conversations between Receptions to Year 11s The Walk and Talk picnic (although hot) gave our girls an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and the green spaces and do something a little different.
Getting out into nature is good for our wellbeing, particularly enjoying the Indigenous Garden, Sunken Garden and cool pathways in the Heritage areas.
“I loved catching up with my cousins’ friends in the Junior School” – Year 8
“I don’t have a big sister, and I would like one” – Year 2
“We are lucky to have such lovely school grounds” – Staff member
“The grass makes me itchy” – Year 1
Our senior girls have also spent time helping at The Freedom Café in the Junior School for lunch service and are truly living the mission of Service Leadership.
Acacia’s Driveway Safety
Reminder to parent to please use Talbot Grove or carpark for early morning sport, cocurricular activity drop off and not the Acacia’s driveway.
Traffic and vehicle congestion has been an issue with a few near misses.
The safety of your daughter/s is our priority!
