International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) - Celebrate with ENPS

Tuesday 3rd December

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations day celebrated on the 3rd of December each year to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.

This year, Essendon North Primary School will again mark the occasion with 'Different Socks Day' on Tuesday, 3rd December.

This day is an opportunity to embrace diversity and raise awareness, understanding, and acceptance - not a fundraiser. Students and staff are encouraged to wear a different sock on each foot, showcasing bold and colourful combinations. By sporting wonderfully mismatched socks, our ENPS community will celebrate the uniqueness that makes each of us special, interesting, and irreplaceable!

We invite all students, families, and carers to join us in celebrating IDPwD. Together, we can take meaningful steps to challenge perceptions about disability, remove barriers, and foster inclusive and respectful attitudes and behaviours in our community.
