A Child's World of Traffic

Children's road safety development takes time and lots of supervised practise. Parents and carers can be excellent role models in this area and provide their children continual road safety reminders. Remember, kids learn road safety skills by observing the most important adults in their life, so look for as many teaching moments as possible while out and about as a family.

The 10 minute Transport Victoria video below provides insight into a child's world of traffic across a range of scenarios like bike riding, boarding a bus, and crossing with and without lights. It's a great reminder that children view their surrounding world of traffic quite differently to that of adults.
