ENPS Captains' Reflection

As the end of the school year approaches, we're asking our House Captains to reflect back over 2024, and their time at ENPS. In this issue, we hear from Willow, Harvey and Zara!

Willow - Wiin House Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2024 so far?

Leading Footy Day, Athletics Day with the Year Three/Fours.

 

What's been the best thing about being House Captain?

Leaving the school for a day to help out with the younger years at events.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

It help me learn how to develop my public speaking at assembly.

 

What has been your biggest challenge so far in 2024? How have you handled it?

Speaking at assembly, I handled it by being brave and a leader.

 

What are you most looking forward to?

Graduation.

 

Which fitness activities got you through this year?

Beep test day, vertical jump, sit and reach, 20m sprint, NOT BEEP TEST.

 

Did you start a new hobby this year?

Golf and billiards 🎱

 

How are you feeling about graduating from primary school?

Happy but sad because I'm leaving my besties.

 

Who makes you laugh at ENPS? Why?

Milly, Alara because they're funny in class, like very funny!

 

Can you sum up 2024 in 5 words?

Best year ever, so far.

 

What are your personal goals for 2025?

Keep my skin clear of acne, play sports or stay fit.

 

Do you have a favourite memory from your time at ENPS?

Ms Wilson having a baby, hanging with Ms Harris, my favourite teacher!

 

Do you have any advice for our 2025 Foundation students?

Whoever has Ms Harris or Mrs Thomas, you'll have so much fun, she's the best.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

Oval drama, and Ms Harris and Mrs Wilson.

Harvey - Gurrin House Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2024 so far?

Athletics Day and the city excursion.

 

What's been the best thing about being House Captain?

All the roles that I get.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a Captain?

Speaking better.

 

What has been your biggest challenge so far in 2024? How have you handled it?

At the first assembly with the Acknowledgement of Country and I like it now.

 

Which fitness activities got you through this year?

Cross Country.

 

Who makes you laugh at ENPS? Why?

Jay and Ethan because they are my best friends.

 

Can you sum up 2024 in 5 words?

Really really really really good.

 

What are your personal goals for 2025?

Being better at soccer.

 

How are you feeling about graduating from primary school?

Good.

 

Do you have a favourite memory from your time at ENPS?

Being with my friends.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2025 Foundation students?

It is a new world but it gets easy.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

Friends.

Zara - Gurrin House Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2024 so far?

Having music class and hanging out with my friends.

 

What's been the best thing about being House Captain?

Some times little kids come up to me and say "Go Gurrin house!" which I think is very cute.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

I learnt how to adapt from being a role model to little kids vs older kids.

 

What has been your biggest challenge so far in 2024? How have you handled it?

My biggest challenge has been working on many projects at one time.

 

What are you most looking forward to?

High school.

 

How have you looked after your wellbeing this year?

By doing hobbies I like.

 

Which fitness activities got you through this year?

Gymnastics.

 

Did you enjoy any books this year?

Five Survive by Holly Jackson.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson.

As Good as Dead by Holly Jackson. 

The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson.

 

Did you binge any TV shows this year?

The Rookie and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

 

Did you start a new hobby this year?

I tried crocheting for the first time.

 

How are you feeling about graduating from primary school?

Excited but sad because I will miss all of my friends.

 

Who makes you laugh at ENPS? Why?

Jazzy because we share the same type of humour.

 

Can you sum up 2024 in 5 words?

Rollercoaster, fun, nostalgic, bittersweet and amazing.

 

What are your personal goals for 2025?

To always be positive.

 

Do you have a favourite memory from your time at ENPS?

I love having music class every week.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2025 Foundation students?

Make as many friends as you can.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

My friends and all the amazing teachers.
