Grade 3 Report

In Grade 3 we have been reading Matilda by Roald Dahl for literature.

I like how Matilda is a genius and how the Principal is strict.  - Sophia

The Wormwoods don’t care about anyone but themselves. The dad scams and 

the mum only watches TV. I’m glad I don’t have parents like that.  – Aidan

Matilda is a smart girl who enjoys reading. Miss Trunchbull is a rude despicable character who hates children and nobody knows why she is a Principal. Luckily Mrs Paterson is a good principal. – Amelie

Matilda is a kind, smart and loving child but her principal Miss Trunchbull is 

a big, fat beast – Zacharia

Matilda is a smart and clever child. She likes to read hard books like 

Gone to Earth. – Olivia

I like how Matilda always reads books and chooses ‘books’ over ‘looks’, 

but Miss Trunchbull is a big bully and she is so rude. – Matteo

Mr Wormwood is a little cheat. He makes the cars he buys look new to fool 

people that come to his car yard to buy a car. -Benjamin C

I love Matilda because it is a very funny book.  Miss Trunchbull is very mean and 

she looms above her students. – Henny

I hate Miss Trunchbull because she is sooo rude to nice kids. I’m glad Mrs Paterson 

is not like her. – Lily

Miss Trunchbull is a horrible principal. I’m glad I don’t go to that school. – Louie

Matilda is so clever and she likes to read books like A Christmas Carol by 

Charles Dickens. – Jayden

Matilda is a kind person and Miss Trunchbull is so rude. Luckily, Mrs Paterson 

isn’t like that. – Pasquale

Matilda’s parents are so very mean. I am grateful that my parents 

aren’t like that. – Benji

The Wormwoods should be grateful that they have a smart daughter 

like Matilda. – Joshua

I love how Matilda reads books and she’s kind, polite and smart, but her 

parents are very rude. Matilda likes reading hard adult books. – Ayame

I really like reading Matilda with my class, but I don’t like how Matilda’s parents and

 Miss Trunchbull treat children. – Maddie

Matilda is a kind little girl, but Miss Trunchbull is the ugly beast of the school. 

At least Mrs Paterson isn’t like her. – Marietta

My opinion about Miss Trunchbull is that she is a mean, rude and horrible 

person. She hammer throws kids and puts them in a place called the Chokey. 

All of the kids and parents fear her. – Aliza

I love Matilda because she is a brilliant little genius and Miss Trunchbull is 

a formidable beast. I’m so happy Mrs Paterson isn’t like Miss Trunchbull. – Violet

I love how well Miss Honey treats the kids in her class. I am glad
