Well done Year 12 Class of 2024!

Remember to take a moment to consider each offer before you decide which offer to take up. Read your offers carefully and ask either myself or the Uni if you have any questions before you do accept, decline, defer or enrol. You usually can only have one active offer with each university or institute. So, think carefully before you accept each offer.

Look for Scholarships at each University or Tertiary Institute and consider all the logistics of each location and course. Remember to update your preferences in UAC to your dream course for the next round of offers. You must update before 12pm the night of 18th December when your results come out from NESA and ATAR’s are released. The next UAC offers will be released on the 23rd of December. Do not stress if you did not receive an offer for your preferred course! There is always a pathway into your chosen degree!

Please reach out if you have any questions or need advice on the various institutions and courses or scholarships.

RYPEN CAMP – Sponsored by Narrandera Rotary

I wish to thank the Narrandera Rotary Committee for sponsoring one of our students in Year 9 to attend the 2024 RYPEN Camp held at Borambola Sport and Recreation Camp on the weekend of the 15th – 17th November.  The program was designed to challenge students through team-building activities, discuss social issues and develop life skills in communication, confidence and teamwork. While we do not have any photos of this year’s event, by all accounts it was an amazing opportunity which our student thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to others for 2025. Thank you, Narrandera Rotary Club, for your sponsorship of this year’s RYPEN Camp.

Girls On Fire – Tuesday 26th November at Narrandera VRA depot

This past Tuesday a group of female students from our local secondary schools had the opportunity to attend the ‘Girls on Fire’ program, held at the Narrandera VRA depot. This amazing program provided our students with the rare opportunity to explore careers and to develop skills in firefighting, emergency services and responding to and management of emergencies. On the day students were placed into teams and rotated through different hands on and intensive activities that both empowered and tested them on teamwork, resilience, built confidence and encouraged problem solving and leadership skills. With the guidance and support of the various volunteers from each of the local emergency services; RFS, VRA, NSW Fire Service, SES and the Girls on Fire instructors, students were able to learn about and undertake actual rescue responses. Students used fire extinguishers, the fire truck equipment and responded in the fire truck to mock emergencies, learnt to use radio communications, various other RFS, SES and VRA equipment as well as conduct mock rescues of car crash victims using the jaws of life and applying first aid. Students learnt the basics of CPR and using defibrillators and how to remain calm and call for help. We thank ‘Girls on Fire’ instructors Bronnie and Mel, as well as all the amazing volunteers of our local emergency services; VRA, RFS, NSW Fire Service, SES for all their time, support and encouragement of our students on the day. This was a wonderful day and opportunity for our students. We highly encourage any students to take up this opportunity if offered again next year, and to consider volunteering with your community emergency response organisations. Please also know that there are fantastic Apps to assist anyone in an emergency:
