Darkness into Light Walk

"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness."

Pieta House is an organisation that supports people affected by suicide and self-harm. In Ireland in 2009, 400 people set off on the inaugural Darkness into Light 5kn walk to raise vital funds for Pieta House. Since then, this walk has grown to hundreds of participants internationally and helps bring awareness and give the gift of hope to those impacted by suicide and self-harm.

This year, the Australian DIL committee has decided to partner with the organisation Headspace. Headspace is a National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12 - 25 year olds.

Join us on 11 May at 5:15am to walk 5km starting from the Rotunda in New Farm Park, walking from darkness into light and raising vital funds for both charities. To register please click on the link below.

Student Services/Main Reception

Mrs Alice David, Reception and Community Liaison Officer, will be assuming the role of Acting Business Operations Administrator as part of the Facilities and Maintenance Team for the remainder of the Term 2. We wish Mrs David all the best for this opportunity! We look forward to introducing you to our Receptionist for the rest of the term in next week's Collective.

Brisbane City Council Parking Reminder

Parking in accordance with all road rules and signage is important to keep our children and other road users safe. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in the number of reports of illegal parking around the school to Brisbane City Council. As a result, our school has been added to Council’s School Zone Enforcement Program.

What does this mean?

Council’s Parking Compliance Officers will be actively patrolling the streets surrounding the school over the coming term to encourage safe parking behaviours. These patrols will be conducted in a Mobile Enforcement Vehicle or by an officer on foot. Please be kind – they have a job to do.

Enrolment Procedures & Business Regulations Friendly Reminder

Parents/caregivers are reminded to review our Enrolment Procedures & Business Regulations on a regular basis.

We would like to provide families with a friendly reminder that a full term’s written notice, addressed to the Principal, is required when withdrawing a student from the College to avoid fees being charged in lieu of notice. Where a student is leaving at the end of the school year, notice must be received by the first day of Term 4.

Notice is to be provided via email to

principal@clayfield.qld.edu.au; and enrol@clayfield.qld.edu.au.
