5/6 News…

Just a fraction of a second!

This week in Grade 5/6, our students have started learning a number of facts about the use of fractions.

This all commenced on Monday, as Mr Reiter explained his snowflake task. The idea of the task was for students to create their own snowflake, by cutting a square piece of paper, and then trying to work out exactly what fraction had been taken out of the square.

It gave some very colourful results!

THE QUEEN BEES ARE TAKING ON COASTREK! Mrs Costopoulos

This year, we are hiking for healthy hearts by taking part in Coastrek, Australia’s most iconic hiking challenge, proudly supporting the Heart Foundation.

Along with thousands of other Coastrekkers, mostly women, we will be walking a really, really long way to improve our own health, fitness and wellbeing - and fundraise for heart health.

Sadly, almost every hour of every day, an Australian woman loses her life to heart disease. On average that is around 20 women a day. Thankfully, you can make a difference by donating and helping me raise life-saving funds for the Heart Foundation.

There will be very sore legs, sweaty hair and maybe a blister or two. There will also be meaningful chats, lots of laughs, camaraderie and connection, and a sweet, sweet feeling of exhilaration when we smash our Coastrek goal after months of training and prep.

All fundraising from Coastrek in 2024 will go towards supporting the Heart Foundation.

Thank you for supporting our team and doing your bit to help close the gender gap in heart health for women. Every donation helps!

Thank you so much,

Hari Costopoulos
