The Fuse Cup - Esports

Towards the end of last Term, an exciting chapter for our Year 7 & 8 students began as they ventured into the digital Esports arena at The Fuse Cup, vying for the coveted title of School Esports Division Champion. Our four young gamers showcased impressive talent and camaraderie in the 2v2 Rocket League tournament hosted at Haileybury College, Keysborough, placing second and third overall!

Meet Mr Filippo Carrega

Each year, schools in Victoria apply for an Italian Government-funded Language Assistant to spend six months assisting Italian study. This year we were successful in our application.

Filippo Carrega has joined us from Genova University, and will dedicate his time with us to sharing his extensive knowledge of linguistics and, of course, Italian language conversation and tutoring. Filippo’s expertise is in Ancient Hebrew, Ancient Greek, Latin and Humanities. We welcome him to our community and appreciate his dedication to language learning even across borders.

Musical Production - Set Building

The ball is certainly rolling on this year’s musical production of  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Up in the Founders Building, the third week of rehearsals has just been completed with singing and choreography being refined. The production quality is so high that it would be easy to think they are almost ready to hit the stage. With Ms Sullivan and Mrs Gould overseeing the weekly progress, it is clear the cast is in great hands.

In the basement of the Provence Centre, the backstage crew have been busy designing and constructing minor sets and props. With huge paper mache acorns and oversized lollies taking form, the team are certainly putting their creative skills to work. Mrs Hindle, Miss Kamevaar and Mr Vernon are extremely proud of the commitment and focus the students are putting into this enormous task.
