"As leaders, we’re not always going to do things right. We’re going to make mistakes. We’re even going to make decisions that lead to failures. We need to learn from those mistakes and continue to take risks."

On a weekly basis we see our School Leaders raising and taking down our three flags. This week I saw them flying strong in the wind. It reminded me of our students and how at Upwey South Primary we are all working together to build a sense of belonging. We belong here at Upwey South. We are resilient learners, responsible for our actions and choices and continue to show respect to all our community members.
We are PROUD to belong in this community. We are all flying high!

Recess is a great time for our students to have a break, get some fresh air and play with their friends. We are very fortunate at Upwey South to have space for our students to spread out and experience a range of activities in a range of environments. Here are a few photos of students playing in the school yard.

The new playground has been a huge hit with the students in the yard. Each recess sees many kids playing on, in and around this new space. With many entry points and a continual path from one end to another, students can keep themselves entertained for the whole 30min. Even a couple of our teachers were seen having races down the green slide.

Working our way through Term Two has been successful and rewarding for students and teachers. Across the school we have been working on completing Portfolio activities and a range of assessment tasks.
Students are building skills in positive interactions and playing a range of games in the school yard. Adding different social skills to their toolbox of tricks, building relationships with trusted adults - class teachers, specialist teachers and our ES staff, are allowing our students to grow as confident individuals in our community.
Parents, please remember to be in contact with me if you would like to discuss any concerns linked to your child. We are here to support all aspects of your child's growth - social and emotional needs along with academic skills.
